Welcome to Downtown Psychology
I am Dr. Abby Nardo, and I am a Licensed Psychologist with a private practice in downtown Raleigh. On this site you will find information about my practice and the services I provide. If you have any question about whether my services are appropriate for you or your child, please don’t hesitate to contact me by phone or email.
I use a collaborative, hands on approach to help clients become more productive and content at school, work, home, and in relationships. I use my strong background in assessment to help clients to understand how their learning style (both strengths and weaknesses) impacts their ability to succeed.
I enjoy working with children (8 years and up), teenagers/adolescents, college students, and adults. In addition to individual and family therapy, I offer psycho-educational assessments of children, teens and adults. While I am not currently running any therapy groups, I may organize small groups if the need arises.
For clients who have a diagnosis of ADD/ADHD, I offer coaching appointments, which typically become integrated with more traditional therapy. I find that adolescents and adults with ADD/ADHD are often dealing with related frustrations as well, so integrated appointments have proven to be more effective than coaching in absence of emotional support. My approach to coaching clients with ADD/ADHD is a non-judgmental, practical approach. I help clients create natural, sustainable change that will decrease their stress (and stress of those around them).
